Plugin of the month – Profile field based theme delivery

If you’ve used Moodle for some time you will know that Themes control the overall appearance.

A Moodle site has a main Theme, and often Courses may have their own Theme(s), even a Category can have a Theme, and users can sometimes select their own Theme.

This Profile field based theme delivery plugin implements a solution to deliver a specific Theme based on a user’s custom profile field.

For example, if a University Moodle administrator sets up the site with an additional profile field which contains a user’s faculty, this value can then be used to decide which Theme a user should be given.  So Engineering faculty Students may see a blue version, while Arts faculty Students may see a green version.  That’s pretty cool !

It can obviously work well in schools, corporate environments, and other settings too 🙂
