Apple Safari 15

A new look for the popular web browser …

Do you use Safari for crafting your e-learning courses ?

Do your learners use Safari to access the courses you run ? If they are using Apple Mac computers, iPhones, or iPads it’s highly likely that they do.

Apple has redesigned Safari for macOS Big Sur and Catalina. Announced as part of macOS Monterey, the new Safari was released the same day as iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.

Of all the new features in Safari the one that may positively impact on e-learning specifically is probably tab groups. It’s very easy to keep multiple pages open in a Moodle course, for example a file upload page, instructions, and assignment directions, all at once, and quickly flick between them. The fact that the tab group synchronise between your Mac laptop / desktop, and your iPhone and/or iPad is really useful as part of a multi-device workflow too.
