The future of Hi-Tech will be Female: Moodle activities
There are lots of reasons why JH and HS pupils cannot attend lessons at given times. It is also then that Moodle can be useful to help pupils access learning content, practice and even be tested.
In Israel, Universities and Colleges have been using Moodle for Blended Learning and fully online courses for some time. This is not the case with most Junior High and High Schools, but we may be on our way to change this situation: the Ministry of Education is “going Moodle”, so teachers can have access to Moodle Platforms for use with their pupils.
Providing “How to use Moodle…” professional development workshops for teachers is one way to encourage teachers to take up Moodle. Sharing examples of how teachers can use Moodle in their work is another.
While it is clear that professional textbook writers can create better learning units than “a teacher from the field”, a JH or HS teacher does not need to be a professional textbook writer to create a series of Moodle learning activities that cater to the needs of her/his pupils. To do so, while a teacher needs to know how to work with Moodle, he/she doesn’t need to use textbook stuff because one must respect intellectual property and be aware of copyright issues. You can be that teacher. Accordingly, let your creativity run loose, use authentic material available on the Web (make sure to state the source!), and have in mind what you want your pupils to do and learn. If you are a teacher of English Foreign Language in JH and/or HS, you may find what follows useful.
I am putting together a series of activities (I wouldn’t call them “a learning unit”) on a Ministry of Education Moodle Platform. My idea is to have the platform available when, to mention but one possibility, pupils cannot go to school to learn. The topic is ” The future of Hi-Tech will be female/ Innovation and Hi-Tech”. I want to teach vocabulary, engage pupils in a subject that may interest them, and encourage High School girls to think about a career in Hi-Tech (it should not be a male-dominated field, should it?).
Incidentally, I may decide to use the activities when pupils come to class, too. They can easily suit me for Blended Learning.

JHS is Junior High School and HS is High School indeed.
OK, so your title “The future of Hi-Tech will be Female” caught my attention.
Have have two young children, both daughters, so of course it did!
I guess that “HS pupils” means High School.
Does “JH” mean Junior High maybe?
