Mini Moodle Magic – HTML Block links

Few Teachers add an HTML Block to their Course … but there could be a great reason…Most Teachers are familiar with adding a Block (or two, or three…) to their Course.  But they often overlook the simple HTML Block.

If you have a number of links that are generically relevant through the Course, instead of creating a number of separate URL resources (increasing the need to scroll) why not set the links up in a simple HTML Block?  You can add the links in the same way, or often just copy and paste, and now they are organised in a compact Block, which can potentially be collapsed by Students when not required, but remains easy to find.

  • Some of the institutions I work with also use the HTML Block for “advertising”; for example a standard course template might include an “After hours tutorial support” Block, or a “Library Hours” block.

    • Oh yes Scott, in some ways the HTML Block is the most powerful of all, because the content and purpose is only really limited by imagination, and the ability to add the code 🙂
