Moodle plugin of the month – Attendance

Did you know you can take a class attendance record in Moodle?

In fact there have been a couple of Moodle plugins released over the years to help take an attendance type record, but the Attendance plugin (from one of our favourite developers Dan Marsden, who looks after the Moodle SCORM code) is probably the best.

The plugin is very easy to setup and use 🙂

The Attendance activity allows teachers to maintain a record of attendance, replacing or supplementing a paper-based attendance register. It is primarily used in blended-learning environments where students are required to attend classes, lectures and tutorials and allows the teacher to track and optionally provide a grade for the students attendance. The teacher can set the frequency of their classes (# of days per week & length of course) or create specific sessions.

The plugin page is here:

And the documentation page here:

https://docs.moodle.org/34/en/Attendance_activity

The documentation is good, although we wish it had a few explanatory images too.
