Moodle plugin of the month – Cohort to course Group

With this plugin you can add users to a Group within a Course, based on their Cohort !

This is another plugin that we really use ourselves – on our www.moodebites.com Moodle courses site.

This Moodle enrolment plugin synchronises Cohort and Group membership.

Think of it as more of a synchronisation than an enrolment.

Why?

Well, it’s important to understand that it does not make any user enrolments. Only users that are enrolled in a Course via other enrolment methods are automatically put into Groups, based on their site level Cohort membership.

The plugin is available here:

https://moodle.org/plugins/enrol_groupsync

Combined with the Profile field to Cohort plugin discussed last month, these two plugins can be used in conjunction quite cleverly 🙂

Interesting post – I can see how this could be really useful streamlining busy or large Moodle sites.
