As the only Pacific language hub in New Zealand (Aotearoa), Pasifika Education Centre’s (PEC) goal is to see the heritage Pacific languages and cultures thriving and being used on a daily basis at home, at school and in our workplaces.

Pasifika Education Centre has been serving Pasifika communities in New Zealand for more than 40 years.

PEC offer free community Pacific language classes online, and have translation services across a wide range of Pacific languages, offering Pacific language resources and literature about the Pacific through a Shopify Bookstore, and running customised Pacific Cultural Intelligence workshops for corporate clients. PEC also offer one on one customised Pacific language tutoring.

PEC aims are:

• Revitalised Pacific languages, ensuring that they are linguistically and culturally sustained.
• Meaningful advocacy with and work alongside stakeholders to drive the achievement of culturally linguistic and sustainable language revitalisation.
• Achieving excellent and long-lasting results including a strong, financially sustainable organisation.

Partnering with HRDNZ (certified Moodle Partner since 2006) PEC have seen huge growth in enrolments as Moodle provides a more flexible way for community members to access the courses.
