Anzac Day
Lest we forget
One hundred and three years ago today, Australian and New Zealand soldiers landed at Gallipoli. Remembering their sacrifices, and the sacrifices of all who served for our freedoms, is as important today as it was then.
I have had the good fortune of running Moodle training for members of the Australian armed forces. And I have met many veterans at conferences. There are many who served in our Elearning community. Today I want to thank them for their service, on behalf of all of us at ElearningWorld.
Given this day’s solemness, I have decided to keep today’s article short, but I still wanted to keep your conference calendar up to date:
Upcoming Asia Pacific Moots…
MoodleMoot Philippines will be held on May 8 to 10. You’re running out of time if you’re interested in this one. There are many terrific speakers announced, too many to list here, so check out their webpage or Facebook page for the latest details.
MoodleMoot Australia will be held in Melbourne on July 1 to 3. Earlybird tickets are available until May 31, and the Call for Presentations is open now.
We’re still tracking MoodleMoot Global. This event will be held on November 18 to 20 in Barcelona. We’re still curious to see what Moodle HQ has planned for this event, and we’ll keep you updated.
…and other Elearning/EdTech Conferences
THETA – The Higher Education Technology Agenda will be held in Wollongong, NSW on May 19 to 22. Registration to this biennial conference is currently open. Check out the keynote speakers and decide if you want to visit the Illawarra this May.
The 2019 National VET Conference will be held in Brisbane on September 12 & 13. And Scott will be presenting! Yes, I will be presenting “What to Consider when Selecting an LMS”, but I will do my best to answer questions about Moodle, Canvas, WordPress or any kind of technical question the crowd can throw at me. If you’re an educator in the vocational training space, you really want to attend this conference.
EdTechPosium has just announced their 2019 conference dates; October 28 & 29 in Canberra. You might also know EdTechPosium by its former name – MoodlePosium. We will update you with details as they are announced.
The 2019 Eportfolio Forum has opened its Call for Proposals. If you’re a Mahara or other Eportfolio user, why not put your hand up and present? The Eportfolion Forum will be held on November 20 & 21, also in Canberra.
