For the online learning world

MoodleMoot UK & IE and MoodleMoot US

Well, this is how we conference in 2020; here’s two upcoming Moots that you could attend virtually. MoodleMoots have been shifted to online events this year and there are two large ones coming up. The good news is this will allow you to attend without having to travel to Dublin or San Francisco, although the trade off might be some timezone difficulties.

MoodleMoot UK & IE will take place on September 28th to 30th. Tickets for the conference are €435, or €465 if you want to attend the workshops. However, there’s a twist because that price will actually get you an extra ticket for a friend. All sessions will be recorded so you won’t need to drag yourself out of bed unless you really need to see it live!

MoodleMoot US will take place the following week on October 6th to 8th. Early bird tickets are still available for US$75. Again, sessions are being recorded, fortunate for those of us in the UTC+10 / UTC+12 boat.

Of course, I have mentioned the key element I get out of conferences is the networking opportunities, so while I am looking into “attending” one or both, I think it’s still important to have method of connection to fellow Moodlers and EdTechers. Why not attend one of the monthly ElearningWorld Zoom calls? I must admit I have been a bit lax in attending them, but I hope to see you there for the September call.

  • Of all the online conferences, I think Moodle (and other e-learning) should be easiest and most relevant of all.
After all, as e-learning professional we spend time telling other how great online learning can be!
So by the same logic, the online conferences of the online educators should be the ‘gold standard’ 😉
