Our podcast moving to SoundCloud

Since we launched The Free Moodle Podcast back in July 2013 we’ve been using the very cool Podcast Plugin available for Moodle.

It’s worked really well, and we would recommend any teachers wanting to add podcasts in their Moodle courses (maybe as Student activities?) to try it out smile

However, as we approach our second year we’ve built up quite a library, as it’s going to be more efficient to distribute these via SoundCloud.  The main playlist of The Free Moodle Podcast is now transferred to:

https://soundcloud.com/stuart-r-mealor/sets/the-free-moodle-podcast

With individual episodes available at: https://soundcloud.com/stream

One of the advantages is that you can stream the podcasts directly from this site – either using the web interface, or the iPhone or Android SoundCloud app.

We are using FeedBurner as an intermediary, so the link in iTunes should automatically update – meaning existing subscribers can continue as normal.

Got to catch up on the podcasts I missed while being really busy and work and then moving. I tried the Sound Cloud site for listening to them and found it very user friendly! 🙂

Thanks for the feedback Paula 🙂

The stats are showing almost 250 downloads of the January 2015 episode, and almost 4,000 downloads of all episodes – which is pretty cool !
