UMass – complex migration and development

Over a two year period HRDNZ transformed the UMass e-learning provision from fragmentation to a world-class provision.

In 2016 Umass approached HRDNZ (Certified Moodle Partner since 2006) to assist in a major migration project – bringing together eleven different Moodle sites, many running different versions of Moodle(!), into one combined site.

Working closely with the UMass team, HRDNZ staff scoped and migrated all data from the individual sites to a new centralised provision. As you might imagine, there were many challenges along the way!

Whilst it’s not revolutionary in terms of how it looks or works, there was a large amount of customisation of the enrolments system, requiring custom development of a unique authentication and enrolment process.
