Moodle plugin of the month – Zoom

Let’s look at the Moodle plugin for the popular Zoom video-conference system…

Zoom is fast becoming the video-conference system of choice for our e-learning clients.

Previous Skype, Microsoft solutions, Wiziq, and other systems were often used, but many seem to be gravitating towards Zoom now – with one of the huge plus points being users do not actually need a Zoom account to join a meeting.

The Zoom Moodle plugin is available here: https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_zoom

This plugin offers tight integration with Moodle, supporting meeting creation, synchronisation, grading, and backup/restore.

Once installed, you can add a Zoom meeting in the same way that you add any other activity in Moodle 🙂

Most of the standard settings are supported such as setting the meeting description, times, duration, password, and the various audio and video options.

All in all, a great plugin for Moodle teachers using Zoom 🙂
