Udutu course authoring

Udutu is course authorising and an LMS…

Udutu has been around a long time now, since the late 1990’s. It’s pronounced “You Do Too” in case you were wondering!

Udutu is unusual in that it provides a course authoring application for free, but also has a paid LMS. Clearly the idea being that users who like the authoring tools will invest in the Udutu LMS too, nothing wrong with that as a business strategy.

From the website (https://www.udutu.com):

  • Course Authoring Tool – Udutu’s course authoring tool is an easy-to-use, easy-to-master web-based tool, built to help you create engaging content that gets results.
  • Learning Management System – Using Udutu’s cloud based LMS, you can fulfill your training and compliance needs quickly and effortlessly, all in a web browser and without requiring IT resources.
  • PPT to SCORM Conversion – the PowerPoint to HTML5 converter allows you to convert your PowerPoint presentations into a web-ready course, saving you time and effort.

Udutu has developed constantly over the years, from quite a rudimentary offering, to something with a good level of sophistication.

  • Pre-Designed Templates. Templates allow you to effortlessly present engaging material to learners through interactions, gamification styled scenarios and rich media presentations. Add branching simulations, case-studies, quizzes, & assessments to your courses.
  • Supports Multimedia. The Udutu online course authoring tool supports all major graphic, sound, and video formats which are automatically optimized for web delivery. With little to no media production experience, you can easily integrate multimedia into your online courses.
  • SCORM Compliant. Courses extracted from the authoring tool are SCORM compliant and integrate seamlessly into any SCORM compliant LMS system.
  • Upload PowerPoints. If you are new to online learning or quickly need to get your training online, you can easily upload your PowerPoint presentations and turn them immediately into engaging courses without the need to learn the tool.
  • HTML5 Publishing. Udutu allows you to create and publish basic, advanced and interactive HTML5 templates empowering users to access content on the move.
  • Cloud Based. As a cloud-based solution, Udutu liberates users from the limitations of traditional desktop-based authoring solutions allowing real time collaboration.
  • Collaborative. Udutu’s solutions can be used by multiple people across multiple locations which improves development time and increases engagement.

Have you used Udutu?

Either the course authorising tool, the LMS, or the PowerPoint convertor?

How did you find it?
