Moodle plugin of the month – site update

Not a specific Moodle plugin this month, but an important overview of the latest site updates.

The Moodle plugins directory has received some much needed love and attention recently, let’s look at the main changes…

Translations

There is a new tab Translations on every plugin’s page. It gives information about the number of text strings defined by the plugin that registered with the AMOS (the Moodle translation tool). And even better, there is also a chart with translations stats of the given plugin. That is, what languages the plugin is translated to, and the translation completeness percentage.

Plugins awaiting approval

A new report is now available at Plugins > Reports > Not yet approved plugins. All the plugins that have been submitted to the Plugins directory but are not yet approved are listed there.  These were previously not available for public view.

Previous versions

A new display of the plugin’s previous versions. The list is now presented via a drop-down menu. It still allows you to find details about a particular version if it is needed. But the list of these versions is not that prominent any more, and the users are encouraged to download and install latest versions.
